Halloween and other Fun-ness!

A few weekends ago I had a FANTASTIC girls night in Fort Worth with some great friends. I have a grand total of two pictures from the night.....both of Amie! Dork! :) But, we had a great time, made TONS of new hairbows, ate, watched a movie, and just enjoyed hanging out and talking! Amie's blog may have a little more detail to the night if you want to read it there.

I can't believe I had to share a bed with her! :-P
Every year we go to the Pumpkin Patch with the Way's. Because it was super, super crowded the day we went I only took two pictures. The first one was of Cassidee almost killing herself on the slide.....
Um, can you see how her bottom is not even remotely close to the slide? The was up on the top, jumped, landed once on her feet, then flew head first down to the bottom. Bradley and I were waiting at the bottom to see if she broke her neck. She looked up and laughed. She's NUTS!

Charlie came down in a more safe manner.

On to Halloween and the Trunk or Treat at MIL/FIL's church.
The petting zoo was a hit!

So were riding the ponies. She did it more than once, I think!

Cason preferred the bounce house over anything else.

I have seen lots of pictures of Jeremy and Sam growing up. I think it'll be fun to see Cason and Beau in a lot of pictures growing up together as well!

My kitty cat and puppy dog!
FYI-the costume that Cason is wearing was Cassidee's very first Halloween costume. She was 8 months old. He is 15 months old. That is why the legs of it come up to the middle of his shin. Oh well.....I feel like I've gotten my money's worth out of it!

Mommy cat, baby cat!
(And that's literally what she called us all night!)

(And, she was wearing a cute gymnastics leotard and tights. She asked me why I wasn't wearing my leotard to the party.....um, no one needs to see that, sweetie! Then, her exact words were, "Well, then you're not actually a cat, but oh well." A 3 year old saying "actually" is funny in itself!)

Just two cute pictures of Cassidee and a new dress/hairbow!

More Cruise Pictures....

At the end of September Jeremy and I got to go on a cruise. Partly for our 5 year anniversary and partly to help some travel agent friends of ours, Dave and Julie (Dave is a firefighter with Jeremy too). They had a big group on board with a country music artist who was performing during the cruise. If you are a fan of country music, I highly recommend Sonny Burgess. I hadn't really heard of him before the trip, but we are fans now!
Here we are....tiny little ants up next to the ship!

A lady took our picture on the first night because the sunset was amazing......

Luckily she took two!

I have been on 5 cruises, but I still look forward to the towel animals every night!

On our first day at sea I woke up earlier than Jeremy. I went and parked it in a chair on deck and ate my breakfast! By the end of the trip these legs weren't looking so white anymore!

Like I said, we were "helping" with the group on board and Jeremy became a bouncer at the door of a club when Sonny did a private performance.

Here he is---Sonny Burgess. Such a great guy!

And, oddly enough, Jeremy won a guitar that they raffled off during his concert. Of course we got it autographed.

Sonny and Jeremy and his new guitar!

First port:
Jamaica
(Not my favorite out of all the places we've been....but still beautiful)

We took a tour with Dave and Julie to YS Falls. It was 2 hours from our port, but worth the drive. Very, very pretty!

Guides take you into the water and take your digital camera with them. I kept tripping and falling over. I was just hoping he wasn't going to do that and drop my camera. He didn't, and he got some great pictures of us in the falls.

We jumped off the falls at the end. I'll spare you my jump, but here's Jeremy's!

That night at dinner we looked kinda dorky....
Why didn't we notice we were dressed like that before we left our room???

Port #2:
Grand Cayman
(most beautiful and one of my all-time favorites!)

You've seen the pictures of us swimming with the sting rays.....
We also:
Took dumb pictures of Jeremy and Dave.

Rode the slide at Margaritaville!

And did tequila shots......I only have proof of Jeremy doing it.

Port #3:
Cozumel
(been there a dozen times, but I still love it!)
It's just a great "beachy" place!

Sonny did a concert on the beach. We got a picture with his whole band.

And this is Sonny and his wife with us.

The final song of all of Sonny's concerts is The Doobie Brothers, "Listen to the Music." Billy McCoy called Jeremy up to sing with him during that song. I took about 20 pictures of Jeremy up there with them. It was just a cool moment....

In Cozumel, after the beach concert, we walked around the pier and did some shopping and ate lunch. We ate at Three Amigos since that is one of Jeremy's favorite movies ever.

And here is us all tan (kinda fried) on our last evening on the boat.

Another big "shout out" to my MIL Becky for keeping the kids that whole week. We surely did appreciate it. And, since we are going on that cruise again in April with more friends, thanks in advance, Becky, for keeping our kids then too! :)

What happens when you go to your grandparents house for the night?

Most importantly, you start your night off with a trip to McDonalds! But once you get back to Me-mommy and Grandaddy's house you have to......

.....clean the fish tank (AKA - a horse trough)

.....and feed them.
Or just try to dive right in with them, right Cason!?

......play with the puppies!

Cason's good at "getting them!"

......climb on top of and play on hay bales!

Awww!
.....and ride the horsey!

But Cassidee also got to do one of her "first ever's!" She got to do a fun run with Me-mommy!
My parents do 5K's all the time, but Cassidee got entered into a 1 mile and did the whole thing!
Here she is at the starting line wearing her number!

It must have been chilly!

And she's off!
Blurry pic cause she is running sooooo fast.....she says anyway!

Crossing the finish line!

Mom said she stopped and walked a couple of times, and mom carried her for a minute or two, but she did the 1 mile! I think she'll be ready for our Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving this year!
Thanks again, Mom and Dad, for keeping them while I was on my FANTASTIC girls-night-out! Pictures of that night coming really soon!

First Soccer Game and More!

Jeremy and I were super excited that when Cassidee turned 3 she wanted to play soccer. We both played as kids (and Jeremy did up and into high school too) and we were excited that she wanted to as well.
Her first game was 2 weeks ago.
She was smiling before it started.....

And concentrating really hard with her tongue out (dumb blurry picture!)

She even played a little bit!
And scored a goal!
Just kidding! This was practice before the game!

She got a little pep talk from daddy before the game started!
But she came off the field in tears during the game.
Why?
Because no one would share the ball with her.
It's hard to teach a 3 year old that they can take the ball away from the other team. She likes it when eveyone shares....hard to argue with that!
Jeremy and I missed her 2nd game. I wish I had all the pictures uploaded to show off, but I don't yet. My parents took her to that game because J and I were on a cruise. We went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman (Caymon?--I just realized I don't know how to spell that) and Cozumel.
The only pictures I have are of us in G.C. swimming/feeding the sting rays!

I tried hard to be brave, but they are so darn big!

Yesterday we took the kiddos and in-laws to the State Fair. Cassidee feels like a pro now with this being her 3rd time to go. She knew what she wanted to do!
We stopped to watch the Pirates of the Caribbean do high dives into a pool....it was freakin' freezing!

But I love dressing my kids in their long sleeves and jackets!!
Poppy and Cassidee (with a huge smile due to major bribery with ice cream)

Our traditional picture of Cassidee in the pig.
I guess Cason will be the cow from now on!

Cass was off and running at one of her favorite places!
Cason was trying hard to keep up!

I wish you could see Cason's John Deere Tractor shirt he was sporting!

I don't have a pic of Cassidee riding the Caterpillar Roller Coaster
(or Ca-piwwar Coaster Coaster, as Cass calls it)
But her favorite end to the day was getting to drive Lightning McQueen around!

Here's what we've been doing....

Last week Jeremy and I got some good "Cassidee Time" when we got free tickets to a Dallas Stars pre-season game. She was giddy with excitement all day waiting until it was time to go. She liked walking straight up to the glass and watching the action!

We had fantastic seats 10 rows up behind the goal!

Cassidee got her picture made with the Ice Girls (?! is that what they are called??) Her daddy and the other guys were jealous.... (insert eye roll by me here!)

We sat right in front of them, so when Cassidee would get a little antsy during the game she would go up and "cheer" with them!

She was hungry from the moment we walked in the AAC. She wanted pizza for supper - check!

Then she licked the sugar off of about 4 churros - check!

Then she wanted popcorn (hey, it's your day!) - check
And yes, she ate all of that, yet she still only weighs 26 pounds.....go figure!

Cheering them on with Daddy!

Mommy and Cassidee

Us with a random, dressed up bear....not sure what he was for.....

All the humidity and rain has kinked our hair around here.....
ignore the panties, I just like how her hair was looking.....

On to Cason for a moment:
This kid is crazy. Really, he's just nuts sometimes. He and I get to hang out by ourselves now that his sister is in school twice a week. He really didn't enjoy it being the two of us the first time she was gone. He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES Cassidee. But, we've kinda got our own fun going when she is gone and I'm loving that I get to focus on him 100% for a little while on those days.
-
He helps me with laundry!

He rides his motorcycle!

He loves this piggy bank....he's concentrating hard with his tongue out!

The piggy bank may actually be his second favorite behind this tractor!

-
Cassidee had Play Day up at school so Cason and I popped up there for just a few minutes to see her. She loves trying to do the hula-hoop!

She and Cason hit a balloon back and forth to each other for a minute!

And she got the hang of hitting it herself.
And, Cassidee went bowling a few times.

We didn't stay long, and I told Cassidee to say goodbye to Cason. He didn't want to stop playing and give her a hug. He was MAD when we left and was chanting "Dee Dee Dee Dee Dee" all the way to the car. Atleast they love each other now....
*Stay tuned for pictures of Cassidee playing soccer. Her first game will be Saturday, and that should be a hoot!
And, there will be pictures of Jeremy and I on our cruise. We leave Sunday, so I'm sure I'll have something fun to post when we return! :)

Labor Day Fun!!!

We had a great day of relaxing and having fun with friends today! We played at the park, Cassidee and I went to the pool with the Way's, and we ended the day in the Fort Worth Stockyards......lots of fun!
-
Crazy Cason eating lunch. Nope, that's not a bow in his hair.....it's ham!

Cassidee wanted a picture of both of them eating a snack..... okee dokee!
Me-mommy & Cassidee watching the longhorns walk down Exchange

Mommy's jail bird!

Amie and I brought lots of quarters for all the rides!

Riskey's barbeque is yummy!
Daddy and Cason enjoyed some ribs!

Cason's first attempt at the rib unassisted....

He licked it quite a bit! I think it was easier for him to just eat the pieces that we cut up for him!

Another ride, another quarter!

The best ride of all.....on Grandaddy's shoulders!

*I had the cutest picture of Cason and Poppy (Jeremy's dad) holding hands and walking, but it was super fuzzy..... :(
-
Fun on the stagecoach

We ended the night at Braums.
Here's Cason's first lick from a cone......
(And thank you Amie for taking all of Cason's pictures tonight!) :)

My Pre-schooler

This was my kitchen counter last night. Outfit - check, backpack - check, lunch made - check. I'm sure I'll be that organized and ready for every single day of school this year. Ha!

I thought I'd be a super mom and make Cassidee (what I thought was) her favorite breakfast before school. I got up early and made pancakes. She likes it when I make shapes. I tried the letter C, I tried Micky Mouse (that looked like a heart), but in the end I stuck with what I do best, circles!
To my surprise and slight frusteration, she came downstairs and said "Huh, I wish I was having biscuits." Alrighty! She got on board with the pancake idea after I let her lick some of the batter out of the bowl. SOOOO SUPER GROSS! She's a weirdo!

I used the circle ones to make a snowman and used chocolate chips for the facial features.

She just ate the chocolate chips!
And, only a 3 year old can get chocolate on her forehead!

Showing off her "C" pancake.

The next few pics are the same. I want to take her picture the same every year she starts school, but I didn't know where to do it. So I took a couple in a couple of places.

She was soooo ready to get in the car. It was hard to get her still.

But seriously, how come she looks like she is going to first grade to me?!

This was the picture she wanted. She said she is holding her back pack straps like Dora...
O-Kay!?!?

Cutie girl with her daddy and stinker bubba that wouldn't look at mommy!

***She had a fabulous day. She called me and said:
"Momma, it was soooo great. We played with dominoes, blocks, and cars. And we played on the playground and I wanted to do the tire swing and my teacher said come in. And we went potty and the girls didn't have paper. And everyone eats too fast and I didn't eat my lunch."
(She is a super slow eater and finished her lunch in the car on the way home!)
She topped off her day with Chicken Express and cupcakes at home!
It was a great day for my 3 year old!
